Role Type:-Temporary

Shift Pattern:-
Night Shift – 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
4 nights per week

Duration:-Temporary assignment for the next few months

Role Overview:-
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to support residents with their daily routines, personal care, and medication-related requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Lead and Registered General Nurse (RGN) to ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:-
Support the Clinical Lead and RGN with medication management and administration in accordance with care plans, policies, and procedures.
Assist residents with their night-time routines and daily living activities.
Provide personal care, including support with washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, and personal hygiene.
Support residents with mobility and safe transfers, where required.
Monitor residents throughout the night and promptly report any changes in their condition, behaviour, or wellbeing.
Maintain accurate and timely care and medication records.
Promote residents’ dignity, independence, privacy, and choice at all times.
Follow all relevant health, safety, safeguarding, infection-control, and care procedures.
Communicate effectively with the Clinical Lead, RGN, care team, and other relevant professionals.
Provide reassurance, companionship, and appropriate support to residents during the night.
Respond appropriately to residents’ needs and any emergencies that may arise during the shift.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:-
Care Certificate
Medication Management / Medication Administration training
Mandatory Training Certificate
Previous experience working in a care home, nursing home, residential care, or similar healthcare environment
Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member
Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to resident care
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts

Working Pattern:-
Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Frequency: 4 nights per week
Duration: Temporary, for the next few months
Shift Type: Night shifts

Reporting To:-Clinical Lead / Registered General Nurse (RGN)
