Child Care Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Child Care Assistant to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. You will support lead staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and ensure the well-being and development of children under our care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety of the children at all times
• Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment
• Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities to foster growth and development
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs
• Manage children’s daily routines, including nap times and school runs (if applicable)
• Maintain cleanliness of children’s areas, including toys and play spaces
• Support early learning through reading, play, and creative activities
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress and wellbeing
• Administer basic first aid and medication as authorized
• Help in cooking and household chores.
• Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions

• Follow safeguarding and health & safety protocols.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Nanny or in a similar childcare role
• Clean Enhanced DBS Check (or ability to pass one)
• Reliable, trustworthy, and patient
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility with working hours and tasks
• Relevant childcare qualifications (desirable but not essential)
